Bergerac AOC
wines
Vine-growing in this part of
the Bergerac region has a tradition spanning back over 2,000 years.
Vines are grown on many different soils and locations: gravel and sand,
clay and calcareous rocks, on terraces and hillsides
Three vine varieties are adopted in the making of the
Red wines: Merlot (the predominant vine type), Cabernet Franc and
Cabernet Sauvignon.
White wines are made with three different vine varieties: Sauvignon, Sémillon
and Muscadelle.
